Having set up MiMalta in partnership with his friend and colleague Erika Farrugia Harding a few years ago, Douglas Barbaro Sant retains a sense of adventure and a business acumen that is envied by his peers. His indomitable spirit insists that there exist no problems in life but only stimulating challenges. Douglas manages a rather perfect balancing act, constantly following new business leads and shrewdly negotiating new contracts for MiMalta, in perfect harmony with an active and adventurous lifestyle. Through working in various sectors of Malta’s Tourism Industry for the past 14 years, from Hotel operations to destination management, Douglas has garnered the required experience and passion for a challenging career that is now seeing him take destination management to new heights.
Eclectic Erika
Providing a necessary steadying influence to Douglas’s exuberance, Erika Farrugia Harding is the ultimate perfectionist, with a vast knowledge of the hotel and MICE market and a sense of duty, coupled with sensational organisational abilities that have helped her grow MiMalta beyond its targets. Erika had overseen the MICE division of Malta’s leading International hotel chain for 10 consecutive years, having previously graduated with honours from Hotel College. With her warm approach and constant smile, few can resist Erika’s charm as she deftly negotiates the best deal on behalf of her clients. Erika has been a regular face at the major international travel fairs and has personally led sales efforts and road shows all throughout Europe. Her strong character and ambitious nature are helping immeasurably in pushing MiMalta to the forefront of the Malta DMC circuit.
Client-minded Clint
MiMalta’s team gains muscle with the appointment of young and wise psychology graduate Clint Mercieca, 25, who sports a calming influence that belies his years. Indeed, Clint has already gained experience in a number of positions of major responsibility, ably handled thanks to his educational background, natural pleasant disposition and trained management skills. Multi-talented and multi-cultural, Clint has handled many visiting groups staying in Malta, adding product knowledge to his hungry brain-box. He knows exactly where to take you and when, and his organisational skills merge with his enthusiastic, energetic personality to add a new dimension to your MiMalta experience.
Sassy Steph
A great addition to our young and dynamic team. Albeit now a young Mum, Stephania has already done the hospitality circuit twice over, having played the role of hotelier in Malta, UK and Tunisia and later that of DMC to perfection, before a brief stop at the pits to tend to her maternal instincts. Of course, DMC remains Stephania’s first love and MiMalta’s allure was too hard to resist, so she’s back in business, doing what she likes best…making clients happy through her talented creativity and commitment to their every requirement. With Stephania, you can be sure that the ‘Abel’ in her surname is no coincidence, while the ‘Tickle’ she picked up in London, where she studied and practised hotel management before returning to her motherland to pursue her meteoric career.
